Particularizes his transfers and reassignments. Of note, prior to joining the war he was a Steam Engineer which may have influenced the decision as to why he was assigned to the Canadian Armed Service Corps from the 9th Regiment of the Canadian Mounted Rifles rather than be assigned, as most from the 9th were, to the front lines through the 1st and 5th Regiments of the C.M.R.
